Job Summary:

This position will provide support to the Casualty/Professional Facultative Underwriting staff.  In this role, you will be working alongside the Underwriters to assist in the underwriting process performing associated technical duties. The ideal candidate will be capable of mastering multiple systems and have experience working in a paperless environment. Additionally, Everest will be looking for a person that is computer savvy and is already skilled in Excel and Word. A strong customer service approach, as well as a proven track record of success in a production environment will be a key factor for success in this position.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • New business submission and renewal submission triage and set-up
  • Utilizing industry websites to obtain additional information for accounts
  • Utilizing proprietary rating system to rate new and renewal submissions
  • Gathering and analyzing underwriting information including experience reports and CAB reports
  • Following up for additional information from brokers
  • Utilizing internal paperless system for file management
  • Participating in peer review and quality control for team(s) as needed
  • Working on special projects as needed
  • Monitoring open items
  • Producing quotes under the direction of an underwriter

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years commercial insurance or reinsurance experience
  • Skilled in MS Office, especially in Microsoft Excel

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:  

  • Thorough attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong desk management, written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Comfort level with developing rapport with business partners, underwriters, clients and co-workers by phone, email or in person. 
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands and requests to complete work within required time constraints with a high volume of work.   
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and mathematical aptitude. 
  • Proficiency in using online reference manuals and multiple electronic systems.
  • The ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple deadlines with ease.
