Summary:
The International Financial Facultative Team of Everest Reinsurance Company, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for an Senior Financial Lines Facultative Underwriter to join our Miami office. The role consists in implementing underwriting business strategy for the international financial lines portfolio by applying sound decisions making to underwrite financial lines business that contributes to a profitable portfolio. Responsibilities include new business production, renewal retention, and the overall profitability of the assigned book of business. This position will have technical, production, transactional and market facing responsibilities.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal submission for financial lines products (D&O, E&O, Fidelity, Cyber), ensuring adherence to underwriting guideline and risk appetite.
Analyze financial statements, company performance and industry trends to assess risk and determine appropriate pricing and coverage terms.
Follow guidelines and implement departmental strategies to achieve budget, profitability goals and exposure management.
Manage broker relationships through marketing, sales calls, and client development.
Monitor portfolio performance and profitability implementing corrective actions if necessary.
Collaborate and cross selling with other stakeholders and line of business within Everest.
Senior Financial Lines, Qualifications, Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
Minimum of 5 to7 years of underwriting experience in financial lines products.
Facultative reinsurance underwriting experience.
Skilled at analysis of all aspects of facultative program structures.
Experience negotiating facultative programs and dealing with clients and executives.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
Use multiple resources to gather and analyze information and use logic to underwrite risk exposure.
Practical knowledge of the international reinsurance marketplace is required.
Must have excellent communication and analytical skills. Strong decision-making-skills are also required.
Demonstrated leadership and training skills.
Should be comfortable multi-tasking and changing/balancing priorities, working under pressure and deadlines.
Fluent in English, Spanish or Portuguese. Knowledge of other foreign languages a plus.
Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
