Executive Assistant, Warren, NJ

How has your role changed over time?

When I started four years ago as an Executive Assistant in the Insurance Claims department, my job was solely focused on supporting the Chief Claims Officer by handling administrative tasks such as correspondence, scheduling meetings, and travel. Since then, the department has grown from 72 to 150+ people, expanding my scope of responsibilities. My role has evolved into a cross-functional position where I am involved in budgeting and planning, on-boarding, reporting, and more.

What new skills have you gained?

My computer skills have greatly improved over the years and my interpersonal skills have grown as I work with different people at all levels of the company. Also, working on many different projects and activities over the years allowed me to gain more knowledge about Everest’s business, as well as the larger insurance industry, and build strong relationships inside and outside my department.

How has this impacted your experience at Everest?

My expanded role has helped create efficiencies within the Claims Department and allowed me to collaborate with others. I enjoy the challenge of taking on additional responsibilities and knowing I am a valued member of a rapidly growing team.
